“Come in!” exclaimed the Ghost. “Come in! and know me better . . . !"
Hi there! I'm Park Cooper, and Wicker Man Studios is the creative studio of my wife Barbara Lien-Cooper and myself-- although rpg games stuff is pretty much always going to be me. (For the record, though, I'm he/him, she's she/her.) We write prose novels and graphic novels, which we've started selling here, since not everyone these days likes purchasing from Amazon, and, yeah, we understand that. My ttrpg content is listed underneath our prose novels and graphic novels.
You can learn a lot more about us at our main website (see that middle link up above, there?)
Here's our prose fiction, for people who don't like giving Amazon money:
--Song to the Siren: The story of a cult rock hero pulled between his artistic human girlfriend and the very possessive magical muse who’s a product of his troubled mind—or IS she?
--The Talking Cure: A very handsome guy who can do real magic decides he needs therapy—but can his attractive new therapist save him from supernatural destruction?
--Hungry Ghosts (prose novel): A teenage warrior, oni, yokai, and a monk... or is he really a samurai...?
Here's the stuff I've "finished" (RPG-wise):
--The Wicker Man's FLAME: a simple set of rules for a fantasy game (based on an original concept by Josh McCrowell (HIS MAJESTY THE WORM)).
--Shibboleth: a fantasy game about a city-state that has outlawed all the old gods and goddesses (so anything to do with them has to be done in secret) because they were getting in the way of keeping the rich and powerful... well, rich and powerful
--Multiclass, The Game! A game system for playing characters who are inherently multi-class or all the classes at once.
--Memos And Monsters: A game about a fantasy apocalypse that was averted with a Wish spell... that turned the whole world into an office comedy.
Here's what I'm still working on (RPG-wise):
--1 Million A.D.* (*After Dungeons): Imagine your typical fantasy world. This is that, but one million years later. Humans, elves, dwarves, and other species are gone. You are the inheritors: owlbears, gargoyles, morticians, psionists, sky pirates, 99 snakes in a long cloak, and many more...
--This Is Our City: A fantasy game in which all the experience heroes are away at The War... so it falls to you, their apprentices, to defend the city (and surrounding territory) from its villains (and their apprentices)...
--The Knighthood, and the Questing Beast: Can The Knighthood unite the land and its people? Or is it too late to hold back the cyclical nature of the world that pulls it to forever fall apart, over and over again...?
--The Twentieth Century: quickstart rules for a game set in the early years of the 20th century (but the fictional version of the 20th century, so, lots of ghosts and hoboes and orphan-kid-newsies and stuff)
--You Have Always Been Here Before: a fantasy game about being the reincarnation of an amazing person from the past
--Castle Selkrave: a fantasy game that's kind of a love letter to Mervyn Peake's novels TITUS GROAN and GORMENGHAST
--Giant Convention Game: A game about being a giant who's planning on going to the Althing: the convention of giants.
If any of these makes you think "wow, that sounds awesome, I wanna hear more about that!" then please let me know!
